Astoria Window is a unique duo featuring harp, ukulele, vocals, and electronics. Trumpet and ukulele player, Jon Shadle met singing harpist, Margaret Davis at Juilliard and the two began collaborating, composing original music with a focus on texture and counterpoint. The band’s mission is to create accessible music in a more popular style, while paying homage to their classical roots with the inclusion of harmonic and metric complexity.
Astoria Window is thrilled to be embarking on an exciting, compositional journey this year. The band has been commissioned by the Seattle Collaborative Orchestra to write an original piece for Astoria Window and Orchestra to be premiered on April 3rd, 2020, at the First Free Methodist Church in Seattle, Washington.
